House Cleaning in Covington
Covington houses are bigger, sit on more land, and collect a different kind of dirt than anything south of the lake. We price them on what they actually are, not on a square-foot formula.

Northshore crew runs Covington, Madisonville, Mandeville and Abita · about forty-five minutes from our Metairie base
Same crew every visit · Insured & bonded · Background-checked employees · No contract

The first thing that changes when you cross the Causeway is scale. A four-bedroom in Covington is not a four-bedroom in Mid-City. There is a mudroom, usually a laundry the size of a bedroom, a screened porch that people actually live on, and a driveway long enough that the house sits under its own canopy of pine.
All of that is fine. It just has to be priced and scheduled honestly, because a crew that budgeted three hours for a Covington house is going to leave something undone, and the something is always the part you would have noticed.
What a St. Tammany house does that a Jefferson Parish one does not
Pine pollen, not just oak
Late February through April the pine dumps a yellow layer on everything with a horizontal surface, and it comes back through window seals and the porch door. Sills and blinds move onto the every-visit list during the season. Ask for it — it is not automatic.
Well water on fixtures
Outside the city system, iron and hardness leave orange and chalk on shower glass, faucets and toilet rims. Standard bathroom spray will not touch it. It needs a descaling product and time to dwell, not more scrubbing.
Screened porches
A porch here is a room. Ceiling fan blades, screens, the furniture, the floor. It is real time and we would rather quote it than pretend it is a freebie.
Mudroom traffic
Acreage means the house gets entered from the back with whatever was outside. The mudroom and the laundry take the hit and they need a different level of attention than the front hall.
Gas cooktops and vent hoods
Northshore kitchens skew large and get used. Grease on the hood baffle is a scheduled job, not a wipe on the way past.
Septic-friendly products
Plenty of properties out past Lee Road and toward Folsom are on septic. Nothing we put down a drain is going to cause a problem there.

Where in Covington we work
Downtown Covington and the streets off Columbia and Boston. The neighborhoods along the Bogue Falaya and the Tchefuncte. Claiborne Hill, Terra Bella, River Club, Tchefuncte Club, the Greenleaves side, Ozone and the older streets near the Trailhead. Out toward Lee Road, Folsom and Abita Springs on request.
Two very different housing stocks sit inside those few miles. Downtown is turn-of-the-century wood frame with original floors, high casings and real plaster. Five minutes out it is 2005 brick on slab with engineered hardwood and tile. Those need opposite instincts, and the crew that works your house is told which one it is before the first visit.

Bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage, frequency. You get a flat number on screen. Large houses and screened porches are handled in the form rather than sprung on you later.
Why the first clean costs more
On a Covington house the gap between the first visit and the fourth is usually wider than anywhere else we work, for one boring reason: there is more square footage of horizontal surface that nobody has reached in a while.
- Fan blades. Most Northshore houses have six to ten ceiling fans and they run most of the year. On a first clean this alone is a chunk of the visit.
- Baseboards in the back half. Mudroom, laundry, back hall. Not a mystery — just the part of the house nobody photographs.
- Shower glass. If the house is on a well and the glass has never been descaled, the first pass is chemistry and patience. After that it is a wipe.
- Porch and sunroom. Screens hold a season of pollen. Once it is off, keeping it off is easy.
After that the house sits level and the recurring visits are straightforward. That is the whole argument for a schedule rather than calling somebody twice a year.

How often makes sense up here
Every other week
What most Covington households pick. Fourteen days is about how long a big house stays level with normal use and a dog or two.
Weekly
Kids at home, a working kitchen, or pollen season. The rate per visit is the same as biweekly, but nothing is ever allowed to build, so the house never drops back to needing a deep clean.
Monthly
Fine for a couple or a house that is empty half the month. Budget more time per visit — four weeks of pine and river damp is real.
Seasonal reset
Some clients do a full deep clean twice a year and nothing in between. We will tell you honestly whether that is enough for your house.
Northshore and nearby
We already run Mandeville and Slidell, plus Madisonville and Abita Springs. South of the lake we are based in Metairie — see Metairie and Kenner.
Moving in or out of a St. Tammany house? Move-out cleaning is a different scope and a different price. Building or renovating? Post-construction cleaning handles the drywall dust that a normal clean cannot.
What we do not do
- Exterior windows above the first floor. On a two-storey Covington house that is a ladder job and a different insurance class.
- Pressure washing the driveway, the porch or the siding. We will tell you who does it well.
- Pest control, and we do not treat for anything. We will tell you what we saw and where.
- Carpet extraction or rug cleaning. Vacuuming yes, wet extraction no.
Covington house cleaning — what people ask
Do you really come across the lake?
Yes. We run a Northshore schedule that covers Covington, Mandeville, Madisonville, Abita Springs and Slidell. There is no bridge surcharge and no travel fee. What we do ask is a little flexibility on the arrival window, because a Causeway morning is a Causeway morning.
How much does house cleaning cost in Covington?
Covington houses run larger than our average, so most land above the metro midpoint. A 2,500 square foot house is $418 for a maintenance clean; 3,200 square feet is $512. The first two bathrooms are included and each one after adds $35. Every figure is on the cleaning cost page.
Can you do anything about well-water staining on the shower glass?
Usually a lot, yes. Iron and hard-water scale come off with a descaler and dwell time rather than force. It is a first-visit job and it takes a while. After that, keeping the glass clear is part of the normal visit.
Do you clean the screened porch?
If you want it included, say so when you book and it gets priced in. Fan blades, screens, furniture and the floor. It is genuine work and we would rather charge for it than skip it quietly.
Do you bring supplies, and are they safe for septic?
We bring everything, vacuum included. Nothing we put down a drain is a problem for a septic system. If you prefer a specific product on stone or hardwood, leave it out and we will note it on your sheet.
